ARES M3A1 & 1928A1

Two airsoft WW2 airsoft guns by ARES. A M3A1 “Grease Gun” and a new Thompson 1928A1! The “Grease Gun” is already available, the Thompson is listed as “coming soon”.

A M3A1 is not really suited for WW2 as it would be only OK for very very late war… 😕 but since there are no alternatives it is better than nothing. Design is a bit weird since the battery is housed in the mag!

Not much info on the 1928A1 Thompson is available the moment. Unlike the M1A1/1928A1 Chinese and King Arms crossover abominations the stock and receiver are correct (finally!). The Cutts Compensator does look a bit small though… guess we will have to wait and see how the final product turns out. Would be cool if ARES would make some 20rd size low cap mags. Hopefully they will make a correct lower body as well with the 1928 style selectors. One downside of the otherwise fantastic Mosquito Molds conversion kit is that it only replaces the upper. Thus the selectors on the lower body stay in the M1A1 style.

  1. It would be nice to see the inside of the M3A1 to see if we can move the battery.

  2. Yes would be cool if there is enough space inside to fit a LiPo. Otherwise i will have to buy a battery for each mag… still cheaper then GBB mags i guess 😆

  3. The ARES M3A1 is an excellent AEG. I did a review including disassembly which is posted on WW2AAA. It was a whim purchase for me but very glad I bought it. I just need spare mags and it’s a real game gun.

  4. Really great review kalbs!!! I have to buy one now… 😀
