Japanese Pocket Ranks III

Rank is for a “Jotohei” (Superior Private). Construction quality of most pocket ranks is quite poor, and this one is no exception 😉

Supposedly it was brought back from Burma by this gentleman: Major Robert Charles Luff, 100th Anti Tank Regiment, Gordon Highlanders.

  1. Hi! I just recently got a superior private Japanese tab. Is whats writen in the circle on yours the soldier’s name? Thanks in advance 😀

  2. Character in the circle says ‘良子(Ryoko / Yoshiko)’. It’s a bit weird that this kind of name is usually for girls. Still a beautiful collection. Happy new year from your Korean fan!

    • Hi, thank you very much for your help! It seems to be quite difficult to read Japanese names, even my friends who are fluent in Japanese struggle sometimes. Happy new year!
