Original color photos from a bombing raid on Japanese-held Wake Island. On October 5th 1943 aircraft from the carrier USS Yorktown raided Wake Island, a Life Magazine photographer was on board of one of the planes and took color photos of the attack (my guess it that it was Frank Herschel). Click on the pix to enlarge
